This District is one of the longest standing fire districts in Yuba County. We are staffed primarily by volunteers with a small paid staff during part of the year.
We are an All Hazards Fire District and our personnel are trained and/or certified in variuos types of emergency responses. We currently have a full-time Chief, a part-time Deputy Chief, a District Clerk and eleven volunteers. We are always looking for additional members that are trained or looking for training in emergency response. Our personnel respond to approximately 250 calls each year the majority of which are medicals or vehicle accidents. The Smartsville Fire Protection District maintains automatic aid agreements with CAL FIRE and Loma Rica Fire District to assist each other ona closest resource basis.
Smartsville Fire Protection District is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, Smartsville Fire Protection District
has a policy of providing an accessible website compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and
commercial screen reading software. All features of the website are coded to allow individuals with vision and
